R&D Senior Software Developer

As an R&D Software Developer you will have the opportunity to work on new software across a wide range of technologies, using your findings and demonstrating your solutions to shape where we go in the future.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team that have adopted an Agile framework, you will take part in the design and implementation of our solutions.

A typical day for you in the role will include:

• Delivering high quality working code
• Modelling software components
• Capturing the design of your solution
• Implementing test cases
• Active participation in the Agile development process

You will bring your experience of software design and development within commercial, industrial or military systems, to the team. You will be able to architect, design, write and review quality software and have the opportunity to propose and create new and novel solutions across a diverse range of technical challenges.

You will ideally bring experience in the following:

• C++, C# or Java
• Agile or TDD
• Virtualisation and/or Cloud Technologies
• Source Code Control Systems

General Dynamics Mission Systems aims to be as flexible as possible so this role could either be based working from home with a requirement for occasional but potentially regular visits to GD facilities. Or based within our offices in South Wales or Chippenham depending upon your preference.
