About the role

As Head of Data Analytics, you will be a strategic business partner to Medallion's EPD, Operations, Finance, and RevOps teams. You will partner with cross-functional teams in defining, understanding and executing our data strategy and delivering key insights to inform our strategic priorities. You will apply your strategic planning, strong analytical skills, and steadfast focus on execution to meet our growth goals. The right candidate is a collaborative problem-solver, analytics guru, and an operator who balances strategy with tactical execution. You'll play a meaningful role in providing insightful analyses and strategic recommendations on how Medallion expands and optimizes its business.

This role requires a well-rounded individual who has demonstrated the ability to deliver results in a high-growth, dynamic, and fast-paced environment. You are versatile, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and a strong communicator. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who is passionate about healthcare technology and happiest in a fast-paced, action-oriented work environment.

This role reports to Medallion's VP of Finance & Strategy and base compensation may land between $175,000-$215,000 depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to base salary, Medallion offers equity, bonus, and benefits as part of the total compensation package. Many factors are considered when determining pay including: market data, geographic location, skills, qualifications, experience, and level.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a key partner to our Executive Team to deliver accurate reporting, thoughtful insights, and inputs & recommendations to drive our strategic decision-making process.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to bring together data from multiple data sources to create reports and dashboards that provide product insights to drive strategic business decisions.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders to guide their selection of "metrics that matter".
  • Solve mission-critical business problems with appropriate statistical rigor.
  • Deliver high-impact, highly visible presentations around strategy, processes, metrics, and KPIs to senior and executive level management.
  • Demonstrate grit and break down complex problems into actionable plans.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain a world-class analytics team.

Skills and Requirements:

  • 8+ years of operating experience, with demonstrated experience developing Analytics strategy for B2B SaaS.
  • 3+ years of direct management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present proposals and vision to executive leadership.
  • Strong cross functional capabilities and the ability to influence across EPD, Operations, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and more.
  • Create analytical frameworks to measure team success: partner with cross-functional teams to define success metrics; create approaches to track the data and troubleshoot errors; quantify and evaluate the data.
  • Player-coach: enjoys getting their hands dirty and thrives in the "player-coach" model by hiring A players, coaching and guiding them, while at the same time diving deep to deliver key results as necessary.
  • The ability to manage and explain relationships between inversely correlated metrics and execute against a strategy to balance both.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced knowledge of statistics and quantitative models and with hands-on technical capabilities: SQL mastery, fluency in Python and R (or other statistical analysis packages), and experience designing and analyzing hypothesis-driven experiments and multivariate tests.
  • Aptitude for framing business questions with data, translating business needs into strategies, and operationalizing plans to drive outcomes.
  • Authentic and demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional projects end-to-end and strong project management skills.
  • Highly disciplined operator with a solution-oriented mindset, ownership mentality, and strong comfort level working in high-growth & performance-focused environments.
  • Understanding of Enterprise B2B SaaS customer lifecycle and go-to-market models and processes.
  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
