Engineering Manager Frontend Infrastructure

Wealthfront's mission is to build a financial system that favors people, not institutions. At over half the company, our engineers are the main driving force behind this financial system and the Infrastructure team is responsible for ensuring that we have a solid technical foundation to build upon. We are looking for an engineering manager to help lead our Frontend Infrastructure Teams (e.g. web, design systems) towards achieving this mission. An ideal candidate combines an inquisitive attitude with a solid technical background to guide the team forward.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering leads to develop a strategic roadmap that improves the quality of Wealthfront frontend systems
• Drive sprint planning and execution as scrum master for the team. Monitor team productivity, remove roadblocks, identify and implement improvements to our process.
• Collaborate with stakeholder teams (product area engineers, designers, product managers, security team) to understand and meet their requirements
• Build relationships with engineers across the organization and help foster a healthy frontend engineering community
• Develop career growth plans for team members and coach them to be successful in their career journey at Wealthfront
• Partner with Recruiting to build well-rounded, effective, and inclusive engineering teams

Requirements

• 2+ years engineering management experience
• Experience with frontend technologies (e.g. web); design systems a plus
• Eagerness to dig deep into understanding and solving challenging problems
• Track record of leading productive engineering teams
• Experience hiring, mentoring, coaching and developing engineers into top performers
• Understanding of successful team dynamics and how your role as a manager fits into this process
• Passionate about collaborative problem solving
• Proficient in agile methodologies
