Why is a Sales Development Representative important to us?

Shapeways' growing customer base consists of both B2C and B2B customers; small-to-Medium (SMB) and Enterprise businesses. As a Sales Development Representative, you will be responsible for helping to accelerate customer acquisition for Enterprise businesses across all potential technologies and verticals.

Our Sales Development Representatives are pivotal to our company's success. You will be a key member of our fast-growing and high-performing sales team and will be our boots-on-the-ground solution to building personal relationships and making our prospective customers successful. Specifically, you will leverage your past cold calling and/or lead generation experience to communicate with potential clients via phone, emails, and Linkedin to develop an interest in Shapeways digital manufacturing solutions. We believe that the most successful sellers have a passionate and supportive team behind them.

This is a fully remote role (US-based) that will report directly to our Director of Sales.

As a Sales Development Representative you will be responsible for:

  • Initially partnering with the entire Commercial team to identify net-new opportunities and accelerate the customer acquisition process
  • Cold-calling prospective customers and educating the market about Shapeways
  • Making 80+ outbound phone calls each day
  • Creating engaging and personalized email communications
  • Setting qualified meetings for Commercial teams
  • Discovering new leads through internet research and social media monitoring/messaging, using tools such as LinkedIn SalesNavigator and Zoominfo
  • Supporting Shapeway's marketing efforts by assisting in online and other marketing campaigns
  • Managing prospecting status, data integrity, and forecasting in Salesforce
  • Achieving, and exceeding, weekly/monthly metrics (meetings, qualified leads, new contacts, etc.)
  • Responding to inbound customer interest and developing these accounts to create opportunities
  • Contributing to strategic weekly accounts progress and meeting statuses

You might be a good fit if (you have/are):

  • Proven record of excelling in the SDR role, ensuring a high volume of qualified opportunities are delivered to the Commercial team on a weekly basis
  • 1+ years of experience in additive or traditional manufacturing is a plus
  • The ability to balance competing priorities and keep multiple stakeholders informed on your progress
  • Naturally think on your feet and can answer unexpected questions with ease
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Internal motivation and tenacity are among your strongest traits
  • "No" doesn't stop you - it only makes you think of other ways to go for the "Yes"
  • You have a strong passion for people, sales, and engaging customers
  • Highly organized and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience using modern sales technologies like Salesforce,, Zoominfo, Linkedin is a plus
  • Technical aptitude- you can learn new programs before and have a knack for picking them up quickly
