About Gatsby

Gatsby is a wildly popular open-source project with over 120k sites and an engaged community. Our last webinar garnered more than 5k attendees. Beyond open source however, we're also a newly commercializing business, one that helps professional developers build blazing-fast apps and websites without needing to become a performance expert. Our focus is on ecommerce sites and other online businesses for whom website performance matters. Some of our users include Spotify, PayPal, IBM, and New Relic.

Why we're hiring

We launched our new commercial product, Gatsby Cloud, this past March and we're seeing strong demand and a robust pipeline! We're raring to add a teammate who's equally excited to continuously drive our growth.

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Close deals
  • Meet with potential customers (primarily mid-market), deeply understand their problems, and assess whether or not Gatsby is a good fit
  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities. Conduct research, identify key players, and qualify inbound leads.
  • Build a sales pipeline and drive the full sales cycle from identifying new prospects to close
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within prospect and customer accounts
  • Position and communicate Gatsby's vision, solution, and value propositions
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Product, and Marketing to align our efforts. Everyone needs to pull for each other, share best practices, and take on team projects to make the entire organization better.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience selling saas, infrastructure, or cms products.
  • Track record of over-achieving quota (top 10-20% of company) in past positions.
  • Experience with salesforce and outbound prospecting tools (i.e. MixMax/Outreach)
  • Must be able to innovate and adapt in an early stage and rapidly growing company.
  • Clear, succinct communicator. The best technical sales people communicate points clearly and succinctly.
  • Must have experience selling to technical audiences. (e.g. could be developers, security or infrastructure.)

The best parts of this job

  • You will be a highly visible figure at the company and will interact with folks across the company, everyone from marketing, to operations, to our executive team.
  • You'll own the full sale cycle from lead to close, which will allow you to build close relationships with customers.
  • Your quota isn't capped

The worst parts of this job

  • Gatsby Cloud is pretty new, so there are some features that customers are asking for that are not yet built. You may have to say "not now" to some or find workarounds to make Gatsby Cloud a viable solution.
  • We're a startup, so some of our processes continue to evolve. You'll need to adapt to all the twists and turns that come your way.

  • Type of Work: Full-time
  • Location: Remote (preference forUS or Canada time zones)
