The Role

As Apollo continues to evolve in both the product it delivers but also in the markets it serves, the Sales Engineer will play a critical role in Apollo's long term growth. As a business, we are seeing unbelievable upmarket traction. The Sales Engineer's primary responsibility is to help customers understand the value and technical capabilities of Apollo in order to drive transformative results for their businesses. You will play an intricate role in the sales process as you understand our customers' goals and technical needs and help them transition to a successful start on the platform.

In addition to customer-facing responsibilities, the Sales Engineer will also play a formative role in 1) providing feedback to Apollo's Product and Engineering teams and 2) building and shaping the future of Sales Engineering at Apollo. During your interactions with customers, you will gather first hand feedback on the needs of customers and understand how Apollo can better serve them. As a liaison with Product, your insights will be pivotal as we incorporate customer feedback and learnings into our product roadmap. This hire will be the first Sales Engineer here Apollo! You will be building and implementing best practices that will enable this team to scale as we continue our momentous growth.

Responsibilities
  • Build an and implement best practices for the Sales Engineering Team
  • Build and maintain a feedback loop with our Product and Engineering teams
  • Be a trusted advisor to both our customers and internal team members
  • Guide customers through their technical evaluation of Apollo
  • Provide technical expertise to help customers evaluate and setup their Apollo instance including scoping integrations, account permissions and key workflows
  • Play a key role in deal strategy and progression
Qualifications and Experience required to apply for this role
  • 3+ years of Sales Engineering (or similar role) experience; SaaS experience preferred
  • The ability to manage technical discovery conversations including technical and security requirement as well as product integrations
  • Experience building and documenting best practices for previous teams
  • Excellent customer communication skills; proficiency leading tailored, value-based product demos
  • Experience coordinating deadlines with Customers as well as internal Sales and Product teams
  • An ability to organize yourself to manage multiple priorities
  • The discipline and desire to work in a remote environment
