About the Role:

As an Engineering Manager, you will be involved and responsible for full ownership and driving key dispatch platform design, components, services, APIs, cost reduction efforts towards delivering product features and value to the KeepTruckin customers.

We are looking for a strong engineering leader to build our Dispatch product. The Dispatch Engineering Team is responsible for driving the KT's Native Dispatch product vision. The key focus areas for the team are 1. Build a dispatch MVP for creating, planning, and scheduling a dispatch 2. Build a dispatch technology that caters to use-cases across low frequency highly dynamic customized dispatch workflows to the less dynamic and pre-configured workflows across KT customers. 3. Integrate with the existing enterprise dispatch and driver workflows 4. Building the dispatcher view using and adding capabilities to our mapping and tracking technology. 5. Identify and resolve production scalability, reliability, and other architecture issues to deliver a high-quality product and service to our customers.

What You'll Do:

  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain world-class engineers.
  • Mentor and grow engineers by aligning individual's ambitions with KT strategic initiatives.
  • Understand the needs of our customers to drive engineering strategy, plan and execution.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to prioritize, scope, estimate and deliver complex projects.
  • Establish and publish operational best practices and metrics for engineering teams
  • Educate and advocate for engineering best practices across the product development lifecycle.

What We're Looking For:

  • 12+ years of software industry experience, with 4+ years of management experience
  • Past experience of leading large software teams, delivering complex products and projects.
  • Passion about building and running distributed systems at scale. Deep understanding of challenges and trade-offs while building and deploying distributed systems.
  • Ability to effectively work collaboratively across functional remote teams.
  • Proven people management and leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and coaching engineers.
  • Enthusiasm for building and improving good engineering practices and processes.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
