This is a high-impact position, critical to supporting our engineering team as we work to scale our platform to handle the demands of exponential growth. You will work with leadership and engineers throughout EPD to deliver the scalability needed to meet current demand and an ambitious vision.

You will work on projects at every stage of the pipeline, improving our quality and reliability from discovery through operations. Expect to work with autonomy, advocate for best-in-class practices, and collaborate with vendors, partners, and teams across dbt Labs. This is a pivotal year for us, and you will have the opportunity to create the foundational infrastructure of the data ecosystem.

In this role, you can expect to:

Collaborate with product management on vision and strategy for dbt Labs infrastructure and platform, aligned with customer goals and business needs.
Build strong relationships with peers in Product, Partnerships, and Revenue to help shape the future of our platform. Effectively communicate vision and progress inside Engineering and to our technical stakeholders around the company.
Take ownership of technical implementation by establishing highly collaborative, transparent, and efficient execution practices. Work through managers to establish feedback loops that facilitate continuous improvement of product development processes.
Develop your organization through technical guidance, coaching, mentoring, hiring, and rolling up your sleeves when you find gaps.
Guide recruiting for your group through the lens of long-term vision. Partner with People leadership to track progress and evolve our program and capabilities.
Champion our values and work to create a diverse and inclusive workplace.

You're a good fit, if you have:

Previous successful execution of critical infrastructure that scaled with company growth.
Experience designing and executing on multi-cloud strategies and the needs of enterprise customers.

What to expect in the hiring process:

- For this interview process you can expect an in-person and virtual component.
- First phase will be all video interviews:
  - Conversation with Talent Team, Kimi
  - Deep dive with Heidi Brandenburg, our Vice President, Engineering
- In person phase will include:
  - Conversation with our other Directors, Engineering
  - Interviews with our Product Team members
  - This day will also include a whiteboarding session
- Wrap up with an interview with our CEO, Tristan Handy
