Product Manager, Confluent Cloud Networking

Confluent Cloud delivers a complete end-to-end streaming experience via a Software as a Service (SaaS) model. To deliver a simple, understandable, and scalable product experience requires abstracting the complex interactions of underlying cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, and compute powering a stateful distributed system. The Product Manager for Confluent Cloud Networking will focus on making the complex network infrastructure reliable, scalable, flexible, secure, and easy to work with so customers can focus on building streaming applications instead of managing infrastructure or mastering Kafka internals. This role will be directly responsible for the product management of our core cloud platform network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Driving the Confluent Cloud Network Roadmap with focus on user experience through an efficient network infrastructure with a low cost footprint
• Defining flexible interfaces, data models, and processes so we can launch a variety of new network options and rapidly iterate on existing ones
• Providing the core network platform on which Kafka and other Confluent services run in Confluent Cloud
• Developing product and technical specifications for Confluent Cloud network infrastructure
• Technical validation of proposed network architectures and solutions
• Coordinating multiple teams who are both providers and consumers of our internal services.

What We're Looking For:

• Product management experience and overall experience in PaaS or SaaS domain with a focus on cloud networking, Load Balancing, and DNS
• Experience defining product functional specifications including API, CLI, and GUI Excellent communication skills and experience working in a collaborative and consensus-driven environment
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP networking and load balancing technologies
• Experience with Envoy proxy or any other edge proxy is a plus
