About the Role:


The Operations & Technology Leader will support Confluent's continued growth and ongoing development of our new Confluent Academy by developing and evolving a comprehensive learning ecosystem and strategy. This role will ask you to think big and innovate our learning technology stack to embrace the future that allows our Confluent Academy team to build instructional sound and innovative learning experiences that reflect learner preferences in a rich learning ecosystem with the data and insight to demonstrate the Academy's impact on the business.

This role will join the Confluent Academy team. This is an environment with complex business issues that are only sometimes clearly defined, and the path to a solution often involves additional challenges and competing priorities. The right candidate will possess creative problem-solving skills, be a self-starter, and be comfortable navigating ambiguity. This individual will gain alignment and consensus with Confluent executives and will need to be able to communicate their learning architecture analyses and recommendations in a succinct and digestible manner.

What You Will Do:

    • Deliver business value through defining and enabling fast, iterative & cost-effective solutions to transform the way the employees/learners engage with our applications and training.
    • Challenge the status quo by providing innovative vision, governance and strategy and driving actionable solutions and roadmaps.
    • Recommend strategies to simplify and optimize business processes.
    • Align the business & IT disciplines to industrialize the best ideas with new operating models and governance strategies.
    • Partner with key stakeholders to gain a holistic understanding of the learning and development needs of the company.
    • Partner with key stakeholders to build a comprehensive Learning Ecosystem Architecture Strategy and Roadmap that will meet the evolving needs of our enablement organization to deliver world-class learning to our sales and services organization
    • Create the Learning Architecture proposal with iteration as a central consideration (Learning Architecture components may be implemented over time)
    • Develop budget estimations for Learning Architecture with various option levels
    • Stay informed on learning technology trends and product roadmaps to make informed application architecture recommendations.
    • Lead Learning Architecture implementation strategy
    • Maintain Learning Architecture strategy
    • Continually enhance Learning Architecture and Ecosystem to maintain a competitive advantage for Confluent.

What You Will Bring:

    • 5+ years of relevant leadership or consulting experience driving organizational transformation in organizational development, experimentation, service design, experience strategy, innovation, product management, enterprise-wide digital initiative(s), value consulting, management consulting, analytics, and/or human capital.
    • Thought leadership in design thinking, human-centric methods, principles of customer experience discipline, design-led innovation practice, organizational culture, agile coaching, business process reengineering, or management consulting.
    • Thought leadership in Learning Architecture/Infrastructure design - Advanced knowledge of learning architecture and eLearning software specifications within Content Management Systems (CMS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), Learning Record Store (LRS), Learning Experience Platform (LXP), xAPI, data transfer, data reporting, etc.
    • Thought leadership in Learning Ecosystem design - Advanced knowledge of the people and technological dependencies (UX: User experience, platform, hardware, software, cloud, vendor, etc..) that exist in creating and maintaining a flexible and effective learning ecosystem.
    • Data & Reporting - Advanced knowledge of L&D data and reporting considerations. How data is captured, how it is passed between systems, how it is stored, how it is consolidated, formatted, and reported, how data can be leveraged for predictive analytics, etc.
    • Learning Inclusion - Advanced knowledge of accessibility standards and diversity & inclusion considerations for optimal learning experiences.
    • Experience in Instructional Design and Learning Experience Design
    • Proven track record of designing and building enterprise-scale learning ecosystems
    • Enablement trends research skills to identify learning/enablement technology trends and strategies that will impact enablement 3 to 5 years out.
    • Exceptional problem-solving skills: demonstrated ability to structure complex problems and develop solutions
    • Effective at building consensus and influencing others by building trust-based relationships
