Description of Duties

We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation for Grafana Labs' developer community and help develop a developer documentation site. You will collaborate with the engineers, product managers, and the Grafana writing team to produce a variety of tailored content to ensure developers can successfully build plugins and contribute to Grafana's open source.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with other senior technical writers, product managers, and internal stakeholders to obtain an in-depth understanding of the development community and the documentation requirements.
Plan, research, develop, and write high-quality content tailored to those who develop plugins for Grafana and want to contribute to Grafana's open source.
Interview developers and engineers to gain knowledge and understanding of the software and tools you write about and the larger systems and context in which it is useful.
Identify critical developer journeys and write content to support that journey, such as setting up a development environment, developing a plugin, and a guide for contributing to Grafana.
Produce content that is useful to a developer audience using a consistent voice and feel to our product documentation.

Requirements

What experience would make someone be successful in this role?

Experience writing documentation for developers
Experience working in open source
Experience working with developer tools, Git and Github.
Experience working remotely and asynchronously.

You're an enthusiast for useful developer docs, you're unafraid of managing multiple projects, and you enjoy working both collaboratively and independently. You have a well-used copy of "The Elements of Style".
