Remote job description

A popular animated web series for children and adults is looking to hire a part-time, freelance social media manager who can take ownership of the channel’s new Twitter account and convey the funny, cheeky, mischief-making tone of the series. You will be responsible for audience growth and community engagement as well as potentially assisting with PR, marketing and sales efforts through Twitter as well. For now, we’re looking for someone to manage the Twitter account only but this may quickly turn into a full-time position where you’ll be overseeing all of our major social media channels! This is a fully remote position. Salary is DOE.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an editorial calendar and post new content daily (3+ tweets per day)
  • Sift through our internal communication channels and folders for assets to post
  • Edit images or videos for Twitter use
  • Monitor conversations and address mentions in real-time
  • Monitor trending topics and news in the animation industry and adjust content and messaging accordingly
  • Create monthly Twitter reports with KPIs and new ideas for audience growth and engagement
  • Work with sales, marketing and PR team to develop strategies to assist those departments through the Twitter channel

Required and Preferred Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of working experience managing Twitter for a brand OR ability to demonstrate expert knowledge of Twitter engagement through a personal account
  • Must be a naturally funny writer who can capture the cheeky voice of the brand
  • Must love animation (animators and artists encouraged to apply!)
  • Ideally, we’re looking for someone with previous knowledge of social media tools like Buffer, Hootsuite, SproutSocial, etc.
  • Experience with Twitter Ads preferred
  • Graphic design skills is a huge plus (knowledge of Canva is fine!)
  • Excellent organizational, time and self-management skills
  • Experience managing other social media platforms (especially Facebook and YouTube) for brands is ideal as this PT Twitter role may lead to a FT Social Media Manager role.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours (respond to tweets/DMs in a timely manner).
