About the Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated, accomplished paid media marketing leader to join Confluent's marketing team. This is an ideal role for someone looking to lead a team with ownership of a global multi-million dollar annual budget across various digital platforms. This highly cross-functional role will collaborate daily with our campaigns, lifecycle, sales, operations, analytics, finance, and product marketing teams.

The Director of Paid Media is responsible for developing a strategic paid media approach to drive demand and generate pipeline. This role will be accountable for owning and implementing paid media strategies across several channels and campaign optimization while continuing to scope out new channels and opportunities to improve and scale the performance of the program.

What You Will Do:

  • Own an 8-figure performance marketing budget to drive growth through paid media channels
  • Monitor performance metrics regularly to drive decision-making and ensure progress towards pipeline targets
  • Streamline operations and processes to scale these channels efficiently across global markets
  • Understand the overall business, marketing, and sales priorities, and translate that into a paid digital media strategy to drive demand and generate pipeline.
  • Establish OKRs, track and manage performance, and make data-informed decisions to guide approaches towards optimization, content, landing page, and creative tactics
  • Measure, analyze, and communicate weekly and monthly paid media performance to internal team members and senior leadership
  • In partnership with finance and ops, establish the performance targets, financial guardrails, and processes to guide budgeting decisions
  • Scope out and test new channels, platforms, tools, and systems to improve performance
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team to achieve targets
  • Partner with marketing and sales teams to build account-based marketing strategies to drive awareness and qualified sales opportunities.

What You Will Bring:

  • 8+ years of experience developing and executing advertising strategies that deliver on key acquisition, engagement, and retention goals for SAAS businesses
  • 5+ years of direct experience managing and developing a team
  • Expertise in managing 8-figure spend across paid search, display, social, etc.
  • Ability to build comprehensive end-to-end reports for executive leadership across departments
  • Detailed-oriented while maintaining the ability to see the overall picture and challenge the traditional path
  • Data-driven with strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong problem solving with a track record of a "test & learn" mindset
  • Excellent team player who values other views and can earn stakeholder confidence quickly and exert influence
  • Strong executive communication and ability to effectively share program strategies, results, and insights with a large audience
