About the Role

We are looking for a content manager to oversee the Confluent Blog, a near-daily publication for developers, operators, architects, and buyers that covers all things Apache Kafka, Confluent, and event streaming. With thousands of views each week and a growing subscription base, the blog is a high-visibility platform for sharing ideas within the Kafka and Confluent communities.

What you'll do

• Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across the entire organization, including the design/web, product/engineering, SEO, copyediting, customer marketing, and business development teams, to source, publish, and promote new content
• Perform content operations, including creating WordPress blog pages and occasionally rebranding images
• Utilize Hootsuite for social media promotion
• Copyedit/review all blog posts prior to publication
• Manage timelines for multiple deliverables while keeping them visible and on track
• Report and analyze blog metrics to develop a strong call for content both internally and externally
• Constantly identify areas of improvement on the blog and work with various teams to implement updates that increase engagement
• Integrate blog content into marketing campaigns to amplify existing content
• Act as editor-in-chief by providing reviews that will optimize content for conversion on the desired call to actions, onboarding new writers, and elevating our blog program and processes to the next level

What we're looking for

• Creativity in coming up with original and new content ideas
• The ability to handle multiple overlapping programs and stakeholders efficiently, utilizing effective project management skills
• The ability to influence people up and down the org chart towards clear communication of status and timely completion of deliverables
• The ability to analyze metrics that inform editorial strategy
• Basic knowledge of Google Sheets, Google Analytics, Asana, JIRA, GitHub, and Adobe Photoshop
• Familiarity with AP style and maintaining a style guide
• Extremely detail-oriented with an eye for the little things
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain flexible and to have an unremittingly positive attitude
