We are looking for our first-ever Director of Tax to help us as we scale. You will own the strategic development and implementation of tax policies and procedures in each tax jurisdiction in which the company operates while remaining in compliance with tax laws and accounting standards. Reporting to our Senior Director of Accounting, you will have primary responsibility for the oversight of all tax functions and will manage all US domestic and international tax implications. You will act as a key partner in establishing a proactive tax structure that will scale with the company. What you'll do:

    • Identify, develop, and implement tax strategies, feasibility studies, and documentation of tax positions
    • Advise on the tax consequences of business and operating strategies, such as expansion into new markets
    • Oversee accurate and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns
    • Manage quarterly effective tax rate, tax forecasts, and US and international tax compliance requirements
    • Lead all federal, state, and local tax audits
    • Assist legal team with corporate structure changes, such as M&A activity
    • Support transfer pricing planning and implementation

Who you are:

    • 10+ years of accounting and tax experience
    • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    • Strong understanding of the U.S. and international tax landscape, specifically sales and use tax, gross income tax, GST, VAT, corporate tax filings
    • Ability to excel in a dynamic environment, change priorities quickly, and meet tight deadlines
    • Ability to distill complex accounting principles into concise business implications
    • You demonstrate a commitment to advancing representation and inclusion

Nice to haves:

    • Big 4 public accounting experience
    • Industry corporate tax experience a plus
    • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Netsuite
    • Experience working with Bill.com, Expensify, or other similar tools
    • SQL knowledge a plus
