SUMMARY: The IT Finance Specialist contributes to building a healthy and extendable infrastructure of hardware and software solutions. They also help develop and maintain procurement processes which align with organizational objectives and support intentional IT spending, resulting in high value services and products.

Attention to detail, critical thinking, being self-motivated, and communicating effectively are paramount to the success of the IT Finance Specialist. This person is a trusted partner to team members and internal customers in providing timely procurement of requested IT assets and plays a critical role in managing the related contracts, invoices, and payments.

General information

  • This position is a salaried, exempt and full-time position.
  • This position is based out of Newfront's San Mateo corporate office with the option to work from home.
  • This position reports to: IT Director, Infrastructure and Operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage technology purchase requests from team members and internal customer, working with the IT Director of Operations & Infrastructure and IT Senior Operations Service Manager for approval and provisioning.
  • Maintain software assets inventory.
  • Manage IT invoice processing.
  • Manage IT credit card and expense report reconciliation.
  • Track IT contracts from the procurement, renewal, and end of life stages.
  • Manage Newfront's corporate mobile device plans.
  • Other duties and/or responsibilities may be assigned.

What you bring to the table

  • Must demonstrate professionalism, passion, and ways to use technology for good.
  • High level of attention to detail and appreciation of workflow processes and checklists.
  • High level of advanced Excel knowledge and experience.
  • Natural interest in and understanding of finances and purchasing concepts.
  • Natural interest in leveraging the latest technology to manage purchasing processes.
  • Problem-solving, team-oriented attitude.
  • Excellent verbal, organizational and written communication skills.
  • Must work well with others in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment and be responsive to co-workers and colleagues.
  • Active participation as a Newfront team member, suggesting improvements in processes and procedures and ways to make the organization better.

Education and experience

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Must have 2-3 years of related experience.
  • Experience supporting an IT Team is preferred.
  • Insurance or financial services industries background is a plus.

Certificates, licenses, registration

Excel or other financial system related certifications are preferred.
