Indirect Tax Accountant

Noom is looking for a motivated and talented Indirect Tax Accountant to join our growing team. The Indirect Tax Accountant will report to the Sr. Accountant, Indirect Tax and work closely with the broader tax team and controllership.

In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the monthly compliance cycle of US and international indirect taxes including but not limited to data gathering, compliance, reporting, forecasting, IDRs, and ad hoc requests. The Indirect Tax Accountant is expected to be a self-starter and able to multitask under pressure. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills in order to properly service internal stakeholders and to work with external consultants.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist with the full life cycle for global indirect taxes including but not limited to SUT, VAT, business activity taxes, NYC CRT and withholding taxes for B2C and B2B.
• Help maintain compliance of relevant jurisdictional licenses and business registrations.
• Ensure timely and efficient accounting, compliance, and payment of indirect taxes.
• Assist with information requests from internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain proper documentation and workflow calendars.
• Keep pace of any outages or errors in tax engine updates to prevent and manage any disruptions in tax collection and determination.
• Align with current initiatives to help drive best practices and scalability for indirect tax processes, policies, and technology.
• Assist with information request from other areas of tax and ad hoc requests.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, tax or relevant field ?" CPA candidate preferred
• 1-3 years of relevant experience to meet the demands of a growing, global technology and healthcare company
• Proven knowledge of indirect tax rules and related research
• Experience working and analyzing high volume of data
• Ability and willingness to work deep into details
• Experience working in software/technology industry is a plus
• OneSource Indirect Tax Determination and Compliance or similar platform experience is a plus
• Netsuite, Alteryx experience is a plus
• Must be a self-starter with owner mentality to navigate in moments of ambiguity
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage parallel obligations
• Must be professionally confident, yet humble and collaborative

Base Salary

• The US base salary range for this full-time position is $66,000 - $90,000.
• Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting is based on Noom's estimate as of the date of publication and reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position across all US locations. The actual placement of the candidate within the range is based on factors including but not limited to relevant experience, assessment of functional skills and behavioral competencies, scope, and location. This range is not inclusive of any discretionary bonus or equity package.
