About the role

CaptivateIQ prides itself on its ability to model even the most complex and unique of our clients' compensation plans. This includes enabling our customers to understand how to model their data and use our tool in the best possible way.

We are looking for a dynamic and creative Sr. Technical Trainer to join the team and help us deliver impactful training experiences to our customers worldwide. In this role, you will deliver training to CaptivateIQ administrators to drive adoption and increase their expertise to manage their plans in our tool. You'll have an opportunity to combine a passion for teaching, with enthusiasm for technology, to improve the way our customers work. The ideal candidate will be creative, data driven, and learner-obsessed with experience teaching both technical and non-technical audiences on topics such as data modeling and database design.

Responsibilities

    • Deliver training to customers in a variety of formats including both virtual and in-person formats
    • Become a product expert by working hands-on with the CaptivateIQ application
    • Assist in developing & maintaining technical training content, lab exercises, presentations, videos, and accompanying materials
    • Provide support for course development efforts, including research, content creation, and training content review
    • Measure and analyze performance data to determine performance and learning objectives that deliver expected business results
    • Assist in the development of a formalized certification program for our customers and partners
    • Administer LMS tasks such as schedule sessions, register participants, and instructor resources

Requirements

    • 5+ years experience as a technical trainer / sales engineer / professional services consultant or or equivalent technical position
    • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp highly technical concepts and clearly communicate these technical concepts in live presentations
    • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, demonstrating the ability to present material in an engaging way, read a room, and think on your feet.
    • Ability to triage and root cause issues
    • Confidence and comfort operating in a highly ambiguous, iterative environment
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Able to travel to deliver in-person trainings

Bonus Points

    • Experience in data modeling, analytics, and/or commissions software
    • Demonstrated knowledge and application of adult learning principles
    • Experience using Learning Management Systems to distribute training and track completion and scoring
    • Instructional design, media production, or technical documentation experience
