Software Security Engineer

Senior Security Engineer

We are looking for a self-driven security engineer to be security champion for the engineering team and drive security throughout the SDLC as well as within the product itself. A great candidate will have extensive experience in security design, secure development practices, and security testing for both SaaS platforms with experience in on-prem products a big plus. We expect you to lead by example and demonstrate as well as coach secure code and secure design patterns.

What you can expect to be doing:

• Working with product management and engineering teams to review and set security requirements for features and review designs
• Coaching the engineering team on secure coding practices, security testing, and automation of assessing security, you'll be levelling up the whole team
• Write code to help enable better security practices, demonstrate prototypes, and create secure frameworks for collaboration with other engineers. You'll lead by example and demonstrate concepts with working code
• Establish security and PEN testing protocols for continuous security assessment
• Interacting with users and customers directly when needed to understand and design features, triage issues, and collaborate

What you'll need to bring:

• 3+ years experience as a software security engineer on SaaS platforms and products
• Problem-solving skills and a drive to learn fast
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with a distributed team, including product management, customers, and our open-source community
• Demonstrably excellent secure coding skills in Python, Golang, or similar language
• Experience securing containerized applications in Kubernetes environments
• Experience automating security in CI/CD and throughout the SDLC
