Luminary is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with exceptional programming
- Skills and server administration experience to help effectively grow our services.
- We're looking for an engineer who is well-versed in infrastructure as code and excited about
- Modern web technologies to join the Platform team at Luminary. We're at a critical point in
- Planning our future developments and we need the expertise and insight of an experienced
- DevOps engineer to help us scale and fulfil our bold ambitions within the music tech world.
- As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Luminary, you will work closely with other developers and
- Key stakeholders within the business, and report directly to the Senior Platform Lead.
- Working primarily on our JavaScript AWS-hosted stack, you will have ownership of our
- Infrastructure - the essential foundation for our customer-facing websites, our RESTful API,
- Our database and our subscription services.
- We do sprints and standups, communicate a lot, support each other, value each other's
- Opinions, and constantly strive to collaboratively improve our working environment.
What you'll do:
Support the Platform team in completing objectives on time and to the highest quality
Standards
- Help to continuously improve the quality and performance of our platform services
- Deploy, automate, manage and maintain AWS cloud-based production systems
- Ensure security best practices are implemented and maintained
- Apply security updates related to the infrastructure in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain tooling as well as communicate their use to the wider team
- Support the migration to a serverless event-driven architecture on AWS
- Build scalable and secure backend services on top of a NoSQL database
- Pair with other developers and participate in code reviews
- Help debug issues with internal APIs, the infrastructure, or 3rd party service
Integrations
Help evaluate new technology alternatives and vendor products
What you'll need:
- Proven Linux server management ability
- Min 3 years of commercial experience with AWS
- Some commercial experience with Lambda (with Serverless framework preferably)
- Min 3 years of experience with Docker and containerisation
- Capable of writing modern Javascript / Typescript
- Strong infrastructure as code experience (AWS Cloud Development Kit preferably but
Cloudformation or Terraform ok)
- Experience setting up CI/CD with Github actions, CircleCI or similar
- Knowledgeable about Git workflows (Trunk Based Development in particular)
- Superb time-management skills and the ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with
