IT Systems Engineering Manager

The Corporate IT team at Lookout is here to keep our developers, engineers, and business units running at top efficiency. About the Position:

We're looking for an IT Engineering leader to join the team of talented Systems Engineers that supports Lookout's developers, builds new environments, and improves our infrastructure for users in a multi-cloud environment. This is both a strategic and hands-on role working across the organization to improve the way we operate and help us scale. We design and maintain the infrastructure Lookout uses to support internal teams across all areas of the business - Engineering, Sales, HR, Security, and others. What You'll Work On:

• Grow and lead a team of Systems Engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development
• Nurture and grow the culture of excellence, trust, and ownership within the Systems Engineering team that embrace the Life at Lookout principles.
• Manage a diverse portfolio of strategic IT Engineering technical projects and ongoing "keep the lights on" work.
• Facilitate collaboration with other engineers, product managers, and designers to solve challenging problems that affect all areas of Lookout's business.
• Implement and maintain controls necessary for security, compliance, and internal policies.
• Identify opportunities for automation and implement integrated processes that improve efficiencies and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Security, Finance, Compliance, and Sales stakeholders on cross-functional initiatives.

About You:

• 7 - 10 years working experience in an IT engineering or operations environment, with at least 3 years management experience.
• Strong systems analysis and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality control; ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in incident response situations.
• Passionate about creating efficiency and ease of use for peers and coworkers.
• Proficient in at least one scripting language, preferably Python and experience running code review for engineering teams
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Comfortable with GCP & AWS infrastructure (Compute / EC2, Storage / S3, Network / VPC, IAM, Cloud DNS / Route 53).
• Familiar with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Solid networking fundamentals (VPCs, routing, subnets, etc.).
• Approach projects and problems with a "Security First" mindset.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with developer tools (Github, Jenkins, etc) and general CI/CD workflows.
• Familiarity with security tooling including SIEM, DLP, or EDR.
• Experience with containerized workloads (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, etc)
• Experience with Okta / SSO / identity provider integrations.
• Experience with zero trust networking tools and concepts.
• Knowledge of working within compliance standards such as FedRAMP, SOC2, ISO27001, and others.
