THE CHALLENGE
Eventbrite is building the global platform for live experiences, and part of that mission relies on a foundation of top-notch IT infrastructure and tools. We are looking for a seasoned leader for a brilliant team of IT professionals providing the corporate technology backbone for 800+ Britelings across 8 countries. THE TEAM
The Eventbrite IT team, or BriteTech as we are fondly referred to internally, is responsible for overseeing all internal corporate technology. This is a tight-knit, supportive, community-oriented, collaborative, and innovative team built around three key principles: Security, End User Experience, and Efficiency through Automation. From SaaS and network, security and collaboration services, to espresso machines over IP, BriteTech's goals are to reduce technical friction in an effort to nurture an environment where technology empowers and supports the creativity of our Britelings. THE ROLE
As the Director of IT, you will lead the Global IT team and drive world-class IT support and infrastructure to empower 800+ Britelings across 8 countries. Leaning on the three key principles of security, end-user experience, and efficiency through automation, you will propel corporate IT forward into operational excellence and maturity and drive innovation that will support the company as it scales and grows. You are also proactive in fostering a dynamic, collaborative team environment where team members can be their authentic selves, coach and provide feedback, and build strong partnerships across the organization. You have hands-on experience across a wide range of IT areas and aren't afraid to dive into the details, but you also build trust among your team members and empower them to do their best work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Set and cast vision for the Global IT team. Drive strategy and organizational design to ensure scalability and effective use of resources
    • Oversee world-class global delivery of IT services across four functional areas:
    • IT Support Engineering - End User Support, Procurement, SLAs, Metrics, Ticketing, User Lifecycle Management, A/V, Facilities Support
    • IT Systems Engineering - SaaS Management, Identity Management, Client Platform Engineering, Automations, Tools,
    • IT SecurityIT Infrastructure Engineering - Networking, Server Infrastructure, AuthenticationIT Project Management
    • Foster and build a supportive culture and dynamic within the IT organization. Coach, mentor, and develop direct and indirect staff. Drive long-term growth plan for members of the Global IT team.
    • Drive technological planning by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies.
    • Act as a strategic business partner to Engineering, HR, Facilities, SRE, Security, Finance, Revenue Operations, Marketing, Legal, and Sales and ensure alignment of IT initiatives across the company
    • Manage overall operational budget, cost forecasting, and quarterly adjustments. Ensure effective and efficient use of financial resources within IT in partnership with Finance and Accounting
    • Manage global vendor relationships across the entire IT stack in partnership with Procurement, participate in negotiations, contract review, and budget requests
    • Oversee career development of the team, recruiting, hiring, and performance management. Coach and mentor IT engineers and managers.
    • Serve as a resource to IT leaders to ensure excellent communication and collaboration between teams and other functions outside of IT
    • Partner with Global Real Estate and Workplace on office builds to support the future of work
    • Lead and oversee compliance with security programs (SOX, SOC2, PCI), in collaboration with Internal Audit, Security, and GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) teams
    • Document and maintain operating procedures, best practices, and customer service KPIs. Drive quality and adherence to industry best practices within the team.

THE SKILL SET

    • 10+ years of experience in IT supporting users and infrastructure in distributed locations. 3-5+ years of experience in a management role, preferably as a manager of managers
    • Demonstrated IT expertise across areas of IT Support and IT EngineeringExperience driving strategy, career development, vendor management, and budget
    • Experience with SOX, SOC2, PCI, and other relevant compliance requirements
    • Experience with modern SaaS IT tech stacks for identity management
    • Experience managing hundreds of users in a complex, interconnected SaaS environment across multiple geographic locations
    • Experience driving complex IT projects involving multiple stakeholders from start to finish
    • Experience building effective workplaces in partnership with Facilities
    • A track record for communicating clearly and effectively and building healthy partnerships and relationships internally and externally
    • Fantastic ability to flourish as a part of a team while exhibiting flexibility and a passion for snacks

THE TECH STACK

    • Systems Administration and SaaS Operations (Google Workspace, Okta, LastPass, Duo, Atlassian, etc.), Mac and Windows Platform Management (Jamf Pro, AirWatch), Endpoint Security (Carbon Black), Network (Unifi), AWS Administration and Configuration, Server Administration (Windows Server, Linux), VPN Configuration, Telephony (Contact Center), Scripting (Python, bash, PowerShell), Security, Active Directory/LDAP.
