Chief Information Security Officer

BitPay has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Information Security Officer to be a key member of the executive leadership team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will develop, implement and oversee programs and processes related to the integrity and confidentiality of company, customer and employee information in compliance with BitPay's security policies. The CISO will evaluate strategic business objectives to propose information security solutions that meet regulatory requirements as well as consult with stakeholders to identify acceptable levels of risk for the company. The ideal candidate will be a personable and forward-thinking people leader with extensive experience developing and overseeing information security infrastructure and programs within the banking, payments, or crypto industry.

This is a remote position with the option to work at our Alpharetta, GA office.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and monitor a strategic IT infrastructure and operations
• Lead and develop a high performing InfoSec team
• Work directly with internal teams to facilitate security risk assessment and management processes
• Develop and enhance an information security management framework
• Ensure the consistent application of policies and standards across the company
• Consult with stakeholders to raise awareness of risk management concerns
• Create and lead a technology roadmap to drive the company's overall technology strategy, providing current security knowledge and vision of technology and systems
• Coordinate and oversee internal audit and information security inquiries and examinations
• Monitor and report on information security changes, industry trends and issues
• Report to the Risk Committee and the Board of Directors on security issues and key technological security advancements
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

• A minimum of 10 years of proven experience as an information security leader and hands-on participant in developing and overseeing information security infrastructure and programs within the banking, payments, or crypto industry
• Demonstrated people leader with experience managing remote teams within the US and globally
• Ability to work independently without a large team to manage the needs of a growing company
• A strategic and analytical mindset who can prioritize critical initiatives while assessing security risks
• Knowledge of information security management frameworks
• Experience advising senior leaders on security risks and best practices for risk mitigation
• Outstanding negotiation skills for negotiating contracts and IT support services
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a performance-based culture
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to build relationships with stakeholders across different levels and departments
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
