We're looking for a UX Designer on a 3-month contract basis to assist us at a pivotal moment. In this role, you'll be responsible for collecting and translating user insights into delightful experiences. Ultimately, you'll help us create both functional and appealing beautiful features that address our customer's needs. You will use your creativity and eye for design - along with your technical knowledge - to develop great experiences.

You'll be working very closely with a dedicated Product Manager and our in-house development team. Together you'll deliver UI mockups, prototypes, MVPs and final products. In this role, you'll have the privilege of being the voice of our customers. You'll translate their needs into user-friendly designs. You will have a direct impact on the customer's user experience of our product.

Description of the role

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our team. On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for:

• Working very closely and collaboratively with the Product and Engineering team
• Using tools like Figma, UserTesting, Dovetail and Hotjar to inform ongoing product improvements to live features and also inform future enhancements
• Conducting design walkthroughs for engineering teams and contributing to refinement sessions
• Overseeing design builds and assisting with QA
• Creating wireframes and prototypes
• Conducting and assisting in user research/testing
• Doing competitive research and contributing to ideation at different stages of a product cycle

Requirements

• UX Design experience in an eCommerce environment, ideally in the luxury sector
• Prototyping and wire-framing experience
• Experience using tools such as Figma
• Advantages to having a background in visual/UI design and/or HTML/CSS experience
• A portfolio to showcase previous design work and process
• A passion for beauty, luxury and online shopping
• A drive to learn and develop!

Our interview process

First, you will meet the hiring manager for a 45 minute chat about all things Beauty Pie, the role and specifically the team you have applied to work with.

Remember, interviews are a two way thing - so use each stage as an opportunity to ask away any questions you may have for us too!

• Next, you will meet another member (or two!) of the team you will be working with.
• This will be a similar format as your first interview, where we will assess your skills and experience along with key competencies for the role.
• Finally, our culture and values are our DNA, which is why every Beauty Pie member finishes our process with a light hearted culture fit interview. This is a chance for you to really get a glimpse into what it's like to work with us. Our advice for this stage? Just have fun!
