Beauty Pie

Senior UX Designer

Beauty Pie

Remote job description

Beauty Pie is disrupting the beauty industry. Our aim is simple: provide beauty and health lovers the highest quality health and beauty products, made by the world's best laboratories. As the first luxury beauty and wellness buyers' club, our products are sold directly to our members without the prohibitive industry mark-ups. Technology powers everything that we do, and contributes to making our business model unique!

As part of our team - You'll learn a lot. (We're all learning a lot.) You'll be multi-tasking, you'll make some great decisions and some bad ones. You'll have highs and lows. It won't be easy (because that would be boring). But you'll be moving fast, identifying and solving problems, iterating and evolving, and you'll bring your best to the game. In fact, it's not very often you get an opportunity like this - to help grow a great brand, for a rocketship of a business that will scale in size and go global. One that thrills its customers. And delivers happiness. We'll be asking for your input, experience, teamwork, ideas, and camaraderie, while we navigate the unknown, the mysterious and the upside together!

We are looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our Product team, working alongside our developers and data team to continue building a perfect user experience for our users. This role requires expertise in user research and usability design. You're going to be embedded in one of our product teams and will work closely with our Product Managers and Tech Leads to understand business requirements, gather the best possible research, and create and promote standard and good practices for crafting our platform and features for our users. Insights and data (quant and qual) are what drive our team, and you will use it to support your decisions. We would love someone passionate about Design and UX, who really loves to understand our customers.

Our talented and collaborative multidisciplinary team is made up of design and research specialists, not only inside our Product Team but also in our amazing Brand Studio team.

Description of the role

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our team. On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for:

Discovery

  • Validate (or invalidate) hypotheses, both problem and solution-related, and help shape pivotal implementation decisions off the back of it. Research consumer behaviors and expectations.
  • Create and test wireframes, user flows, low-fidelity prototypes and run/analyze concept validation studies with a sample of users. You'll have direct access to users and customers alike.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations of findings and recommendations for improvements to stakeholders at all levels, up to C-level executives.
  • Coordinate and conduct user-first discoveries, ethnographic research, as well as other appropriate behavioral and attitudinal research to help advise and evaluate design.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams across the business to facilitate business partner (business and user) workshops, run appropriate conceptualisation and participatory design sessions.

Delivery

  • Redefine complicated experiences and complex problems into simple and intuitive solutions.
  • Clearly present various stages of design development to business owners, team members and other business partners.
  • Translate UX recommendations and data-driven decisions for feature/function concepts into visual designs such as wireframes/prototypes and high-fidelity designs.
  • Work across the company's multi-platform sites: and support experiences developed based on adaptable design principles while supporting the development of our design system.
  • Participate in the definition of our in-house design language to provide a unified set of UX and design rules.
  • Works with product managers, developers and data analysts to set up all requirements.
  • Build and maintain style guides, and support teams during the development cycle.

Requirements

We believe it's all about mindset, great skills and attitude and a fantastic work ethic being key. If you're aligned to our values, excited about the opportunity, and you're really good at what you do (even if you don't tick all the boxes) apply anyway! *

  • Prior experience as a Senior UX Designer.
  • Deep expertise in user research, end-to-end design process, conceptualisation, UI prototyping, user testing, and implementation.
  • Proficiency with the following tools: Miro, Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and other related software.
  • Ability to communicate decision points and metrics in an articulate, actionable manner for technical and non-technical individuals at all levels.
  • Thorough understanding of design approaches, technologies, and tools (including journey maps, wireframes/click-throughs, dynamic prototypes, user flows, etc.)
  • Be able to take ownership of all end-to-end UX process activities, and champion human-centered experience design.
  • Portfolio featuring examples of interaction/service/innovation by design work.
  • Experience in using users testing platforms (exp. Hotjar, UserTesting.com, etc.)
  • Use appropriate UX research and design methods to deeply understand the user needs, goals, difficulties, and the underlying opportunities to improve our products and services, collaborating with the project team throughout the journey
  • Right skills to communicate information about your works internally and externally
  • Strong UX portfolio highlighting relevant case studies. Displayed experience of user research, deep understanding of existing challenges, and collaboratively producing appropriate solutions are key

*The stated experience and background is a guide and does not preclude applications from candidates with more or less experience, provided the requisite skills can be demonstrated.
