We are looking for a Vice President, Product to lead and facilitate the creation of products that deliver value to both customers and the business. Their goals will align the product strategy with the business strategy and drive the deployment of that strategy throughout the organization. They should expect the scope of the role to flex and evolve over time, but be prepared to manage any aspect of product-related execution: product vision, product innovation, product design, visual design, product development, project management, user research, packaging and pricing.

Product Strategy & Execution: In concert with the product management and design teams:

  • Develop the dbt labs Product roadmap: take qualitative and quantitative inputs from users, customers, the business and the community, and generate the product priorities and features that align with business strategy
  • Articulate, communicate, and maintain the dbt labs Product roadmap for all stakeholders, internal and external
  • Create alignment among stakeholders and drive coherence amidst a backdrop of uncertainty and competing priorities
  • Coordinate initiatives across teams to deliver amazing, impactful, high NPS products to our users and customers, with special focus on Engineering alignment
  • Architect and enact the processes that deliver high user/ customer satisfaction with dbt labs products without unnecessary overhead
  • Define and track key product metrics; socialize data with larger dbt labs team
  • Drive the articulation and communication of the user and customer focused stories and use cases that inform our roadmap for years to come

Product Team and Org

  • Manage managers of world-class Product Managers and Designers driven to create world-class Analytics Engineering experiences
  • Attract, develop and retain top talent, for Product and Design, and in support of other functions as needed
  • Create an environment where the PMs and designers on our team can thrive, learn, and grow
  • Scale these teams and function as we seek to address new use-cases with product;
  • Coordinate across the organization by proactively providing visibility into the teams' work, including celebrating successes, learning from failures, and managing expectations

General Management Responsibilities

  • Work with all other functions to drive the growth and business success of dbt labs: CS, GTM, Marketing, People, Finance, and more
  • Under direction of the CEO, work in concert with the leadership team to drive cross functional programs and initiatives throughout the company, from DEI and OKRS to implementing and upholding controls, policies and processes, to building a shared culture
  • Executive representation of dbt labs with customers, at internal and external events, Board meetings, investors and partners, and at industry, press and analyst briefings
  • Articulation and alignment of all things relevant to Product to dbt labs as a company, and ambassadorship to the OSS and dbt community at large

    • For this interview process you can expect an in-person and virtual component.
    • First phase will be all video interviews:
      • Initial intro with our CEO, Tristan
      • Conversation with Talent Team, Kimi
      • Deep dive with Tristan
    • Second phase will be video interviews as well:
      • Deep dive with our VP of Engineering, Heidi Brandenburg
      • Follow up call with Manager, Business Partners Vanessa Yeh
    • In person phase will include:
      • Conversation with our CRO
      • Deep dive into the current team with Interm Head of Product, Drew
      • Wrap up with CFO, Daniel Le
      • This day will also include a whiteboarding session with Tristan
