About the role

The Payments Processing team is responsible for monitoring bank payment processing, proactively recognising and resolving major processing issues, and communication with our banking partners and related product teams. Our aim is to identify disruptions in existing and new payment integrations before an issue impacts customers. If we find room for improvement based on feedback from other service teams, we validate these ideas and pass them to our operations team. We endeavor to do more for our customers, so that we stand apart from the rest.

We're looking for a skilled Team Lead to manage our Payments Processing team. Someone to collaborate with product teams and banking partners regarding payment related issues. Someone who knows how to build a strong team to operate after scaling up our payments infrastructure. Someone who will take resolution time and customer experience to the next level.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing and mentoring a team of 10 specialists in Krakow and other locations
  • Monitoring and improving performance of the team, ensuring the delivery of established KPIs
  • Establishing standard operating procedures, creating workflows and document processes
  • Escalating issues to our banking partners, payment processors and other service teams
  • Cooperating with our product team to improve a product and automate processes
  • Work in tandem with the operations team to establish error resolution procedures
  • Monitoring bank payment integrations, proactively recognise and resolve processing issues
  • Hiring talented and highly motivated team members, recognising and developing skills of direct reports
  • Taking ownership of difficult problems, resolving ongoing issues, being a leader in the workplace
  • Reporting to Service Operations Lead

What you'll need

  • 2+ years of team management experience (you managed a professional team of more than 10 employees)
  • Experience record in a bank or other financial services (preferably in payments, operations or support department)
  • Ability to break complex problems into smaller ones by analysing data with the help of such tools as SQL and Excel
  • Understanding of SWIFT, SEPA, ACH, Faster Payment and other bank payment schemes
  • Flawless English (both speaking and writing skills, understanding of banking terms)
  • Confidence in explaining issues with ease in a customer-friendly manner
  • Ability to an objective decision making, organising workflows, prioritising and delivering high quality
  • Education level BA/MA degree

Nice to have

  • Experience working with Jira, Confluence, Trello, Slack, Excel
  • Understanding of SWIFT payment formatting MT910, MT900, MT103, MT202 and MT202cov
