Senior Data Scientist

At RevenueCat, we make selling subscriptions in your mobile app easy. We launched as part of Y Combinator's summer 2018 batch and today are handling subscriptions for more than 10 million mobile subscriptions across thousands of apps.

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to help us enable developers to make better decisions by using the unique data we have collected across the subscription ecosystem. Our data tech stack currently includes our Python backend, PostgreSQL production database, Redshift data warehouse, and AWS DMS.

About you:

• You are proficient in SQL and are comfortable with data modeling
• You have experience building predictive models
• You have built production-ready data pipelines and Python models
• You understand how to best visualize data to unlock insights and enable better decisions
• You are driven by creating value for customers, not just scientific accuracy and you see perfect as the enemy of done
• You are comfortable with ambiguity, lack of structure, and a greenfield environment where you can (and have to) build a lot from scratch
• You are interested in the consumer mobile subscription ecosystem and are excited to explore the data we have

Nice to have:

• You have experience with subscriptions and lifetime value (LTV) modeling and prediction
• You have experience setting up A/B testing methodologies, particularly with non-binomial success criteria

In the first month, you'll:

• Learn all the data we're collecting and our data pipeline
• Start answering questions using our existing data warehouse

Within the first 3 months, you'll:

• Start designing predictive LTV models
• Contribute to product features that use our data to help developers make more money
• Launch your own explorations into our data to fulfill your own curiosity
• Publish data-driven content to our blog

Within the first 6 months, you'll:

• Ship, own, and continuously improve predictive models used by our production backend
• Work very closely with the product team to inform the product strategy and direction
• Contribute to architecting and further developing our data tech stack
• Be the company expert on our data

Within the first 12 months, you'll:

• Propose, design, and develop new data driven features from idea to shipping
• Lay the ground work for expanding our data team
