Are you a hands-on technical visionary passionate about revolutionizing warehouse and distribution design for customers? Do you have a keen understanding of the intricacies involved in incorporating robotics into facility designs, from concept through to technical artifact creation?

We are in search of a dynamic Facility Design Engineer, someone with technical and analytical prowess, and a keen interest in warehouse design or similar environments within manufacturing, production, or distribution sectors. This role is pivotal for innovating customer-centric solutions, integrating seamlessly with our product team to translate complex ideas into actionable, technical outlines.

As a member of our facilities design team, you'll play a crucial role in conceptualizing and realizing project designs. You'll engage with both internal and external teams to craft and implement state-of-the-art facility designs, encompassing green-fields, brown-fields, and retrofits across industries.

This role is located at our Santa Clara, CA headquarters, at our Seattle, WA office, or remotely within the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teams to deliver innovative solutions for our customers' fulfillment and distribution systems, from conceptual design to approval.
  • Partner on multiple projects with a keen eye on quality and cost-effectiveness, ensuring designs meet or exceed expectations.
  • Develop facility requirements, capacity, and rate models to guide design decisions.
  • Design robotic automation integration using both traditional robotics and flexible cobots.
  • Manage engineering design projects across various stages and complexities, including integrated system designs and alignment with WMS, WES, WCS, and BMS systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Supply Chain, Design)
  • 1-4+ years of experience in Design/Innovation Engineering, Manufacturing/Process/Industrial Engineering
  • Experience in the design cycle of warehouses, distribution, and fulfillment centers, including machine design and full factory design engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for facility design and experience with business/technical software like MS Excel and MS Project.
  • Experience utilizing data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Quicksight, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering design projects.
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, collaborative and dynamic start-up environment as part of a small team.
  • Willing to occasionally travel.
  • Must have and maintain US work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Technical expertise in full facility designs, capable of transforming ideas into technical artifacts for internal and partner use.
  • Experience designing robotic workcells or other robotics integrations.
  • Understanding of digital twin concepts and the application of real-time data.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools and their application in engineering building designs.
  • Experience with aligning warehouse management, execution, and control systems within integrated machine designs.

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $150,000 plus equity and comprehensive benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and experience level. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
