Internal accounting? That's a good start. Supporting all areas of the company and assessing financial implications from various key strategic decisions and growth opportunities - this is what our financial people do all day long.

The Group Financial Reporting function is looking for an External Reporting Lead. You'll be part of a team who are the go-to for all accounting and reporting, like policies, company financial statements, and disclosures.

You'll be developing and implementing Group accounting policies, monitoring new developments to ensure we are complying with the new accounting and reporting standards, assessing the accounting implications of new products and services, and being an all-round technical accounting whizz, to support our teams across the globe.

What you'll be doing
Owning development and implementation of the Group accounting policies and manuals.
Assessing the accounting implications of new products launches of changes in the existing offerings.
Providing technical accounting support and advice to the relevant business and financial control teams globally.
Driving high standards of financial reporting across the business, through the development of the financial reporting processes.
Preparing the Group's and subsidiary financial statements.

Supporting the ongoing development of our financial reporting processes and controls, within the existing Group Financial Reporting function.

What you'll need
10+ years of experience in financial reporting requirements, either within practice or within a financial reporting role in the banking industry.
Proven technical expert in IFRS and US GAAP within the banking industry.
Experience with IFRS 9 financial instruments and specifically hedge accounting.
Recent external reporting experience with the UK Plc or SEC (FPIs) environment technical accounting and financial reporting in a complex and regulated environment.
Experience with leading teams and stakeholder management.
Chartered Accountant (CPA, ACA or equivalent).
Hands-on and positive attitude - the will to give everything a go, from drafting accounting technical papers to cross-company global projects.
Excellent organisation skills: the ability to plan and organise work efficiently.

Nice to have
A STEM or Economics degree
Previous experience in fast-moving FinTech organisations or a top-tier retail
banking/PE, within a regulated business environment
