THE CHALLENGE

Eventbrite is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join us in our mission to bring the world together through live experiences. Last year alone, our platform processed over 150 million tickets across over 3 million events organized by our creators. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to build beautiful, responsive, delightful, and intuitive user interfaces that our creators and attendees are excited to use every day.

THE ROLE

The Eventbrite Ads team is tackling a new challenge by building a new internal ad platform that aims to help our creators get better results with their marketing dollars. Our team is currently looking for a customer obsessed, highly collaborative, and entrepreneurial person to join our scrappy squad bringing this new platform out of beta and into a revenue generating powerhouse. You will contribute to Eventbrite engineering's culture of technical excellence through inclusivity, knowledge sharing, and mentorship. THE TECH STACK

We heavily leverage AWS technology to get the job done. On any given day you will be working with Lambdas, ECS and Fargate, Serverless Aurora, API Gateway, Terraform, Docker, Kinesis, and much more! We are committed to scalability through serverless applications where it makes sense.

THE SKILL SET

    • 5yrs+ experience building software applications
    • Strong experience high-level languages, specifically Python
    • Experience with MySQL, Aurora, or other RDBMS
    • You have experience designing and developing APIs
    • You care about making sure your code is maintainable and well tested
    • You bring knowledge of Test Driven Development and do it in your day to day
    • You can influence architectural designs across the stack
    • You are a pragmatic programmer that understands how to balance quality, time to ship, and cost
    • You have experience with AWS & Terraform
    • You are familiar with CICD tools and processes
    • You can improve engineering standards, tooling, and processesYou have a holistic approach to quality

BONUS POINTS

    • Experience building in the backend of an ad platform
    • Experience building the backend in a reporting platform
    • Experience with Timestream, Elasticsearch, or Snowflake
