About the team

In this role, you'd be joining the Compliance Product & Engineering team. Our team is responsible for building tools and products for both internal and external customers that streamline compliance with a number of regimes such as PCi-DSS, SOC, SOX , HIPAA etc. Our team helps Stripe increase the GDP of the internet by ensuring we build highly compliant, secure and privacy -first products and services

What you'll do

As part of this team, you'll contribute to building high-performance and secure systems and use your understanding of good scalable distributed design best practices to influence a long-term architectural strategy while continually delivering customer value. Your role will be to design and implement APIs and frameworks, driving efficiency and predictability. You'll also collaborate with partners in Security, Infrastructure, and product teams to define shared long-term roadmaps.

Responsibilities

Design scalable distributed applications; define suitable abstractions and model data flow and components trading off scale, maintainability and cost appropriately
Write high-quality code and tests
Integrate detailed instrumentation and finely tuned monitors and alarms
Contribute to Operational Excellence and highly available/reliable/secure systems
Work with other engineering leaders, product managers and compliance managers to build the best customer experiences

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

3+ years building distributed applications
Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent

Preferred qualifications

Experience working security or privacy-related techniques or systems
Experience working with compliance programs such as SOC, PCI-DSS or HIPAA
