Software Engineer Fleet Management

Confluent sets Data in Motion via its various solutions like Kafka, KSQLDB, Connect, Schema Registry, etc. These solutions are deployed across all major cloud providers in 1000s of instances. Managing this Fleet of instances for our customers along with Confluent internal services is the responsibility of the Fleet Management team. We are working towards building a complete and compliant platform to safely and scalably run operations on the fleet. Fleet Management is a young, fast-growing, and high-performing team sitting inside the broader Cloud Control Plane org. As of 2021 August, there are one TLM and five engineers (one principal engineer) at all levels in the Fleet Management team. Fleet Management supports rolling out various operations for example software upgrades for all Confluent Cloud products and ~100 internal microservices; this team collaborates closely with nearly all product teams, the core Cloud Control Plane and is mission-critical to our Cloud business.

What We're Looking For (Required Skills/Must Haves):

• Familiar with Java or Go programming languages;
• Experience with Linux;
• Experience in distributed systems;
• Basic knowledge of the CI/CD process in either in-house or public data centers.

• Kubernetes, Helm knowledge
• Building applications in public cloud
• Operations and execution of services on cloud
