Senior Software Engineer, Web

We're looking for a full stack engineer to join our Web team and help develop modern, standards-based web applications that support that vision of re-imagining how people discover, consume, and curate content across devices.

Our development environment is a modern mix of technologies including Node.js, Express, React/Redux, TypeScript, CSS-in-JS, and Docker. Our target platforms include all modern browsers and device form factors.

• The Web team at Flipboard values a collaborative, feedback-driven development process. We emphasize both UX and code quality/maintainability. Our distributed structure (which predates COVID-19) leads us to value proactive commun
• The Flipboard team is currently working remotely; join our team and work from the US or Canada.

Role and Responsibilities

You will be part of a small distributed team of engineers and designers. You will participate in research, prototyping, design, development and testing of new technologies and products.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of development experience
• Strong programming and design skills
• Expertise with JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• Expertise with web application frameworks
• Strong knowledge of web site design best practices
• Strong problem solving and communication skills

Nice to Haves

Experience working with / proficiency in:

• React
• Redux (or functional programming in general)
• TypeScript
• Git
• Unix
• Keen eye for clean UI implementation
• Experience working with distributed development teams
• Experience with shipping large scale web products
