Senior Software Engineer Safety Platform/ Full-Stack

As a Safety Platform engineer, your focus is on the long-term systems, operations, and APIs of the Anti-Abuse team. Your customers will be other engineers and operators who will use your products to scale safety. Come for the interesting projects, stay for the important mission. You report to the Safety Platform Manager.

You Will:

• Build UIs and APIs in React and Python around our in-house, real-time, abuse detection platform that allow us to identify and take action against abuse.
• Facilitate abuse data understanding by building easy-to-understand analysis toolsets.
• Collaborate with analysts and other engineers to identify bottlenecks in their workflow and implement elegant solutions.
• Move quickly to respond to the evolving landscape of abuse on Discord.

You Have:

• 4+ years experience writing Javascript (React, TypeScript).
• 4+ years experience writing Python.
• Experience working with other engineers, designers and non-engineers.
• Experience with databases like Cassandra or Postgres.
• Experience with a backend web framework, such as Flask or Django.
• Open-source leadership and contributions.

Bonus Points

• Experience with data warehouses like Druid, BigQuery, and Redshift
• Experience with real-time streaming data systems like Kafka or Pub-sub
• Experience with services on Kubernetes
• Experience with Python ASTs
• Prior experience working in the Anti-Abuse domain
• Ability to build client-side UI in React
• You have a strong moral compass that navigates and motivates you
