Senior Software Engineer ELK, DevOps

Lookout's Cloud Platform Engineering Team is transforming how Lookout Engineering teams build and deliver products. The team's vision is to enable innovation and delight our fellow engineers and customers by providing a low friction, high quality continuous delivery platform. As an Engineer working on the Cloud Operational Infrastructure team under the Cloud Platform Engineering organization, you will play a pivotal role enabling Lookout Engineering teams to rapidly build, deliver and run global products and services at scale. We strive to constantly expand our internal Engineering team's ability to quickly release new services and features for our customers. Our core tool chain includes a variety of OSS projects (Spinnaker, K8S, Docker, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible) which broadens the languages we use (Python, Java, Ruby).

Responsibilities:

• Architect, design and manage our ELK Centralized Logging infrastructures. Run a highly optimized efficient ELK infrastructure at scale ingesting TB of data per day
• Fully automate the ELK infrastructure in AWS and GCP - Index life cycle management, snapshotting, restoring old indices etc. Work on Filebeat, Functionbeat, Audit Beat, Logstash ingestion, Logstash coding. Work on ingestion from GoogleCloud logging via Pub/Sub to ELK
• Work with service owners to create new ELK indices, cross index search, cross cluster search and replication
• Design, develop and deliver various other operational infrastructure in both AWS and GCP
• Evaluate new technologies and methodologies for integration into the Continuous delivery platform
• Conduct code reviews and ensure high programming standards; troubleshoot, analyze the root cause issues in the platform
• Fully participate in the ownership of your services and components, including on-call duties
• Interact with the Engineering for supporting/maintaining/designing backend infrastructure for product support
• Internal customer outreach, advocacy, and support

Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field/degree
• 4+ year experience running ELK stack at scale in a large organization in production
• 5+ years experience of software development and Devops
• 5+ years experience with designing, building and operating large-scale distributed systems on AWS and/or GCP
• 4-5+ years experience with automation programming in Python, Java, Ruby or similar scripting language
• 3+ year experience with Terraform, Ansible
• Solid experience in architecting, implementing, tuning, and debugging large enterprise cloud deployments
• Strong experience with infrastructure designing, automation and orchestration
• Familiarity with Agile software development process
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Bonus Points:

• Experience/expertise with the NoSQL/SQL databases
• Experience with serverless architectures and FaaS on AWS/GCP
• Understanding of AWS/GCP networking security model
• Proven experience with Docker, and Kubernetes
• AWS/GCP certification is nice to have
