Senior Software Engineer

Getwork (a wholly owned subsidiary of LinkUp) is a rare combination of a new brand with well established clients (10+ years!) and we are looking to add to our growing tech team!

About you: At your core, you love to solve problems and are obsessed (in a good way) with building cool things. You are a self-starter with exceptional communication skills. You enjoy diving deep into an application with the curiosity to look for meaningful results of your work. You are proud to introduce yourself as a Jill/Jack of all trades. Typical week as a Getwork engineer:

• Learning and experimenting with new technologies and ideas
• Developing features and optimizations in a core application that processes/analyzes millions of rows of data per day
• Improving existing software to ensure fast and reliable delivery
• Develop and collect metrics to drive continuous improvement of existing products
• Building team culture and development processes

To be successful, you'll need the following:

• A strong foundation of computer science knowledge (with or without any particular degrees)
• 7 or more years experience programming in multiple modern programming languages
• Solving problems and building new features with minimal direction
• A fun attitude. Life is short. We can have fun while we work hard on cool things.
• Be humble, be modest. Experience doing code reviews and receiving feedback.
• A solid understanding of OOP design patterns
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with these technologies: Linux, Docker, PHP (or similar languages), Symfony (or similar frameworks), MariaDB (or similar mysql databases), Bash, Git

Someone that would be a great fit:

• Has experience (or interest) with technologies like Kubernetes, ElasticSearch, Redis, and RabbitMQ
• Domain Driven Design
• TDD (Committed to having features testable)
• Is sensitive to small details and likes to plan out their own work
• Can go heads-down for extended periods on a large project when needed
