If you sweat you're an athlete, and Strava's mobile apps and website connect millions of active people every day!

As a Senior iOS build engineer at Strava, you will build tools and infrastructure that ensures Strava's mobile development can continue to be fast and efficient at scale. In this role, you will focus on improving our local IDE and CI experience when working within our massive and modularized monorepo codebase. We have a weekly release cadence, so performance and reliability is super important. In the past we've already made 2x improvement in our CI pipeline which allows product engineers to receive faster PR feedback and ship code faster, but there is still a lot more room for improvement.

The team you are joining focuses on driving technology adoption and unlocking product teams potential. You will have opportunities to mentor engineers on the iOS guild and grow your area of ownership through driving architectural decisions and/or working on foundational frameworks that enable higher productivity for other developers.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will:

  • Amplify the efficiency of our mobile developers to develop, test, and release apps to our users.
  • Identify and fix performance bottlenecks in the development experience.
  • Help determine the scope and the priorities of the team by identifying opportunities to decrease build times, reduce system complexity, and improve the developer experience.
  • Optimize the performance, and usability of our build tooling.
  • Taking ownership of your work, partnering with cross functional peers to ensure projects are properly scoped and implemented.

We're excited about you because you:

  • Have experience working with iOS build infrastructure in a production environment.
  • Are comfortable using Xcode tools and understands the complexities of interop between Swift + ObjC.
  • Stay up to date and experiment with the latest iOS technologies.
  • Think critically about how your work connects to the business strategy/vision.

We'd love to talk to you about the future of Strava's core technologies and your role in developing it. Please take a look at the links below to learn about the exciting work we are doing.
