The Role

We're searching for someone with great depth and experience in Rails and integrations with some experience in React. We've got a set of lean, but mature processes covering product management, design system, automated testing, pull request reviews, CI/CD, code linting, etc.

You'll be the technical source of expertise for this team and enjoy an enormous amount of autonomy in your day-to-day work. This role continuously increases the capabilities and effectiveness of the Clinical Operations team.

Objectives

  • Maintain and improve system integrations with our pharmacy partner Truepill to reduce errors and delays as well as optimize delivery batching and timing to reduce costs.
  • Design and build tools to manage and monitor operations of our soon-to-be-lanuched in-house pharmacy.
  • Enhance our video consultation scheduling system to reduce issues and increase flexibility as our practitioner networks grow to meet the increasing patient population.
  • Improve provider and operations tools to manage patient prescriptions and their pharmacy fill lifecycles.
  • Overhaul the payment processing system and integration with the Stripe Connect architecture to allow more flexibility in pricing options without cascading effects to other systems/products, as well as reduce instances and categories of issues associated with payment processing.
  • Build and support tools to train new providers and therapists to use the Brightside platform.

You value

  • Patient safety and data security
  • Clean, simple, readable code
  • Robust, automated testing (ideally rspec/capybara/react-testing-library)
  • Full code ownership
  • DRY and YAGNI
  • Small, frequent releases to production

You have

  • Experience (5+ years) writing and supporting mission-critical APIs in Rails.
  • Experience (1+ years) writing and supporting complex React web applications.

It'd be nice if you have

  • Built/supported HIPAA-compliant applications
  • Prior startup experience

Salary & Benefits

  • $140,000 - $180,000 salary based on experience
  • Meaningful impact, great culture, balanced life
  • Work remotely and whatever schedule works best for you. We care about results, not 9-5.
  • Unlimited vacation policy
  • Amazing health insurance
  • Company equity
  • Hardware and tools of your choice

We know that diversity makes for the best problem-solving and creative thinking, and are committed to equity and inclusion.
