.Net Developer

Our tech team in Dublin, part of EML, are looking for a .net developer to join the team. If you are an experienced .NET developer with strong ASP.Net development skills then we would love to hear from you!

The Role & what you'll do

In this role, you will be part of our tech team at EML, the Irish hospitality marketplace that runs pigsback.com.

As a .NET developer you will:

• Work with a creative team to build solutions in support of business objectives
• Write software to implement business functional requirements and conduct unit
  tests
• Modify code for product improvements and bug fixes
• Develop quality software that is easy to support and maintain
• Designing and developing reports
• Design high-performance RESTful web services
• Ensuring Pigsback.com standards are maintained

The Team

We are a team of 3 and are a supportive and collaborative collective, focused on our mission to inspire the world to escape. We are open minded and use data and insights to devise hypotheses to test in as lean a way as possible. We are results oriented and focus on positively impacting targeted outcomes in the sweet spot between customer and business value generation

We enjoy the flexibility of working core hours either fully remote or in hybrid home / office pattern, but we take every opportunity to get together and collaborate to keep our energy levels high. You will be expected to be in the office more frequently when you start in this role, so please do bare this in mind if you wish to work fully remote, as we want to ensure your onboarding experience into the tech team is a positive one!

Must haves

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the full software design life cycle. They should have experience in designing, coding, testing and consistently managing applications. You should be comfortable coding in a number of languages and have an ability to test code in order to maintain high-quality code. You should also have:

• Good knowledge and experience of .NET framework (.NET 3.5, 4.0 etc.)
• Strong ASP.NET MVC skills
• Experience with XML, Web Services, SOAP, and/or REST.
• HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, JS framework, Bootstrap framework
• Experience building tables, views, stored procedures in MS SQL Server or similar
  database is desirable (with an emphasis on high traffic environment)
• Experience with source control systems (SVN and Git)
• Mobile application development a plus
• Applicants will also need to be familiar with working within a Cloud Environment
• Enterprise Software Development Principals and Practices
• Application Design Principles / OO Design

Other requirements:

• Commercial experience in a similar role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in dealing
  directly with clients/internal stakeholders
• An ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
