We can hire this role to be office or hybrid based from our London office, or offer full remote working within the UK, we cannot offer visa sponsorship or relocation for this position.

Technical Leadership at Tessian:

The Lead Engineer is a key role within Tessian. As a Lead Engineer you will work closely with our Engineering Managers/Product Managers and Engineering Directors on quality, cost and timelines of deliverables. On the non functional side you'll ensure the platform meets our high volume and low latency requirements.

Responsibilities for the role will include:

Lead technical design for the team of talented engineers
Work closely with other leads on backend guild proposals and technical design reviews
Maintain and support business-critical systems where scale, latency and cost are front-of-mind
Ship code to production every day using CI/CD
Learn to build with security in mind
Propose and implement best practices regarding stability and scalability
Participate in the on-call rotation

Our Tech Stack includes:

Python 3
Environments built around AWS: EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, Kafka, Kinesis, ElasticSearch, Step Functions, etc
Concourse and CircleCI for CI/CD
Terraform built environments

We'd love to meet someone who:

Has at least 5+ years of Software Engineering experience
Has at least 2+ years team lead experience or technical leadership (line management experience not essential)
Has deep understanding of cloud technologies
Enjoys collaboration and working with others
Can construct good arguments for methodologies and best practices

Bonus points:

Has worked with, or understands the principles behind working with data at scale
Has the you build it you run it mindset
Is comfortable with the unknown and loves to experiment
