Codecademy is looking for an Interactive Developer to create interactive web-based applets for our courses. The Interactive Developer provides the Codecademy Curriculum team with specialized interactive graphics to aid learner's understanding of course content. This is a paid, remote, contract position, with a typical commitment of 5-10 hours per week.

What You'll Do

  • Work with Curriculum Developers to create interactive web-based applets for our learners that fit pedagogical needs
  • Solidify the workflow process for creating applets, and develop templates that speed up the creation of interactive applets

What You'll Need

  • 3+ years of experience as an interactive developer and programmer
  • Extensive knowledge of and real-world experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript and graphic libraries such as d3.js and p5.js
  • A portfolio of web applications you have developed
  • What Will Make You Stand Out
  • Experience in both web development and education
  • Mastery of multiple visualization libraries
  • A teaching background and understanding of educational pedagogy

This is a part-time, remote position. You can expect anywhere from ~10-30 hours of work per week, with the freedom to work wherever and at whatever times you want. You will be compensated (paid) bi-weekly.
