About the role:

The Data Platform team at Kong is tasked with building and maintaining a data architecture to focus engineering, drive growth, and build innovative new features and capabilities for our products. As a Kong Data Engineer you will integrate state of the art data frameworks with our products to build datasets and make them accessible to our partners and customers. Your work will enable our engineering teams, product managers and customers to bring together insights and make and automate data-driven decisions. In every decision that you influence, you will see the product improve and be more valuable to our users.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop and integrate APIs and the front-end interfaces and visualizations they power to deliver product features.
• Collaborate with other engineers and technical leaders to discover the best solutions.
• Support your colleagues by reviewing code and designs.
• Build systems to enable accurate measurements to show what is working well and to reveal what needs improvement.
• And any additional tasks required by your manager.

What you'll bring:

• BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ or more years of experience building systems in Javascript and ideally React, Vue or similar frameworks
• Experience with how data is modeled in databases and APIs, and how data is commonly transformed for presentation to users
• Experience with writing good tests for front-end applications, automation of testing, agile development, git and Github workflows.
