You will be responsible for and take pride in...

• Incrementally improve existing components and features to make them compliant
• Participate in defining our accessibility and user roadmap and priorities
• Help set the development standard of our wider FE team through tools, mentoring and automation.
• Raise accessibility awareness within the wider product-technology group (engineers, PMs and designers) and help them find solutions to their problems.

You should recognize yourself in the following...

• Someone with a proficient understanding of software architecture patterns, hands-on development and ideally with previous work experience on core teams within a medium or large company
• Highly experienced with React or other advanced client-side Javascript frameworks
• Experience with improving accessibility of SaaS type applications
• Knowledge of the WCAG guidelines and how to technically apply them
• Ability to make data driven applications with charts and complex visualizations accessible
• At least 7 years work experience in software development.
• Some work experience focused on developing rich, accessible and usable web SaaS applications within medium to large companies.
• Solid knowledge of WAI-ARIA, WCAG 2.x success criteria, ADA Section 508, and ideally an understanding of the difference between legal compliance vs. accessibility beyond compliance.
• Thorough knowledge of how to make websites accessible to various audiences with different handicaps.
• Familiarity with how to create good user experience aimed towards a variety of assistive technologies; like screen readers.
• Experienced collaborating and working across multiple projects and teams
