Experienced Software Engineer Security

The Security team at Plaid is responsible for building the services, frameworks, and processes engineers use to create products that are safe and secure by default.

The team is looking for engineers that have built and scaled internal services and frameworks to accelerate engineering processes and product development. Ideally, you have collaborated with security teams on some of the projects. As a software engineer on the security team, you will work with experienced security engineers to automate and scale security team initiatives, while being able to help security engineers grow into software engineers. Example teams and projects that the role can focus on:

Product Security, automating the vulnerability management and threat modeling processes so product engineering teams and self resolve security risks directly.

• Zero Trust, scaling our authentication and identity services to accelerate new product development.
• Data Security, building services that look for sensitive data and ensure it only goes to where it needs to go.
• Detection Infrastructure, collaborate with our security operations team to automate the remediation of security events.

• Experience building scalable backend systems preferably cloud friendly applications.
• Mentoring security engineers in software engineering.

What excites us

• Experience working with Security teams, preferably as a security champion.
• Strong problem solving and coding skills in coding languages like Python and Go.
• Experience working with cryptography, logging infrastructure, authentication, permissioning, or other security related concepts.
• Experience with containers (Docker) and Container Orchestration Systems (Kubernetes/ECS).
• Experience partnering with engineering teams to roll out organization wide controls and tools.
