Engineering Manager Quick Commerce

We are looking for an Engineering Manager (Python)(f/m/d) to join our "Quick Commerce" team. Contribute to the creation of our next generation platform, that works on expanding our amazing delivery to new products such as groceries, pharmaceuticals, flowers and more. Work on Delivery Hero's catalog management, campaign management, ad-serving/ad-booking systems.

This is a remote position, in a fully remote team! You can join this position if you are allowed to work in any of these countries in which Delivery Hero has a local presence: Finland, Norway, Sweden, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Greece, Austria, Turkey, Pakistan, Hungary, Germany, Lebanon. Your mission:

• You will work on our next generation platform to not only provide food for our hungry customers but also other daily urgent needs like drinks, fruits, snacks but as well batteries.
• You will be managing the attractional developers and test engineers.
• You will define software architecture, communicating effectively with engineers, product managers, partners, leaders and a broad set of stakeholders.
• You are not shying away to build reliable, scalable systems with high concurrency and are always eager to learn and implement new languages & technologies. Your decisions will make an impact since your ideas & efforts do matter.
• Eventually you are not afraid to build global systems which are used by thousands of people and constantly drive for excellence.
• You will work in a goal driven environment.

Your heroic skills:

• 3+ years of cross functional team management experience with backend, frontend and test engineers.
• 6+ years of professional application development knowledge with Python.
• 4+ years of experience in applications infrastructure management and operations.
• 4+ years of experience in working agile methodologies.
• Eagerness to work in a fast-paced, fault-tolerant, agile environment on cross-functional teams.
• You are a pragmatic manager who understands what is needed to get things done in a collaborative manner.
• You love to learn and constantly improve your own skills, and are not afraid to jump into new things.
• Improve the user experience of existing solutions by being data-driven, analyze the impact of features, make hypotheses and implement new solutions.
• You review codes and ensure the best quality.
• You believe in cross-functional teams and know that responsibility does not end with deployment.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Working remotely requirements:

• Being able to legally work in one of these countries: Finland, Norway, Sweden, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Greece, Austria, Turkey, Pakistan, Hungary, Germany, Lebanon.
• Having the ability to travel to Delivery Hero headquarters in Berlin twice a year.

Nice to have:

• Experience in infrastructure and devops.
• Deep understanding of service-oriented and microservices architectural patterns, troubleshooting methods and best practices.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Proven track record of building and managing high performing engineering teams.
• Passion for people management and mentorship/coaching.
