About the team:

Robinhood is looking for an engineering leader who is passionate about building scalable platforms to lead the Content Moderation Platform team.

The Content Moderation Platform team's mission is to build and maintain trust for all Robinhood investors by ensuring they can safely engage on the platform while adhering to Robinhood's community guidelines.

This team strives to provide a platform that can cater to variety of internal and external scenarios that require understanding of user-generated content, ML-based context and inference, high efficiency data pipelines, and services architecture.

What you'll do day-to-day:

  • You'll develop inclusive teams in which people are empowered to do the best work of their careers.
  • Coach and mentor Robinhood's talented engineers by giving them practical feedback, setting clear goals, and coordinating project work with other teams and managers
  • You'll partner with peers in Product Management & Design to craft and evolve the team's vision, mission, and strategy.
  • Improve the quality of Robinhood's products and engineering by refining metrics and establishing processes for improvement.
  • Deliver high-quality, impactful projects in record time with thoughtful planning.
  • Apply technical leadership and expertise to both your team and across engineering.

About you:

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer or data engineer and 2+ years of team management experience.
  • You are very organized. With many people doing many things in a fast-moving company, strong organizational skills-both for yourself and for the team-will be required.
  • You possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are able to weigh several and often conflicting constraints and make rapid choices in a fast-moving and quickly-growing company.
  • You love helping engineers develop new skills and advance in their careers. You don't shy away from performance conversations and you recognize the relationship between constructive feedback and career growth.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.

Bonus points:

  • You may have used the technologies in our stack, such as Python, Django/Go, Postgres, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes experience a plus.
  • You may have experience working on large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience with concepts and practices such as threat modeling, data anonymization and classification, auditing access to data, and review of requests for data access.
