Ceph Engineer

Adyen is looking for senior System Engineers with a focus on ceph to join our infrastructure team in Amsterdam. You will be working on building, scaling out and maintaining multiple ceph clusters built on top of off-the-shelf hardware. These will be the systems where the company will store critical and non-critical data. Instead of just consuming technologies, you will be expected to push them.

Who you are

The ideal candidate should have a solid Linux background with broad systems experience. You have a mind-set to automate and avoid repetitive tasks. Perhaps most important; you are a true team-player who is open to feedback, and are able to work in a 24/7 environment, diagnose problems, make quick informed decisions and handle pressure.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Linux
• Networking
• Ceph
• Aws s3
• Python
• Running ceph in production at PB scale
• Experience with block, file and object storage
• Experience deep diving into the code, the network and the operating system to find answers.

You probably have experience with some of the below mentioned technologies and concepts, and are willing to learn the others:

• Puppet
• Understanding of observability, metrics and monitoring
• Prior experience in either a SRE team or on a cloud platform team
• OpenStack Cinder
