Remote job description

Founded in 2018, billx is a next generation online payments platform for consumers and business customers. Using the Open Banking framework, billx allows users to quickly and easily request payment from friends, family, and customers. These payments are made securely and without the need to manually exchange any card details or account numbers. The business has recently completed its first round of fundraising and is currently concluding its second (Seed) round. This is to drive forward our product launch, build out our team, and bring the power of the billx infrastructure to a full suite of business customers.

Ethos

We are a small Company with big plans for 2021. With a senior team that comes from a fintech background we firmly believe in hiring the best people we can, and empowering them to do what they are good at. We are a Company that has achieved two rounds of funding in 2020 even with the challenge of the Global Pandemic. We are looking for people to join us remotely supported by a programme of remote meetings and socials, with the intention of setting up a physical working hub in 2021.

Requirements

Billx systems have been built by a 3rd party and are now being moved in house due to a need for rapid expansion. With an ambitious and exciting roadmap ahead, we are looking to bring on some incredibly talented developers! You will have a say in the system architecture, tools used and plans for future development. We are looking for someone who is happy to work remote with a twice the month meetings in South England.

Responsible for

We are looking for Software Engineers that love to work at a startup building exciting tools for our users. You will be building our APIs and other tools to ensure a high level of quality, reliability and documentation.

Ideally you will have experience in:

  • TypeScript
  • NodeJS
  • MySQL/Postgres
  • Unit Testing tools such as Mocha
  • GraphQL
  • Rest APIs
  • ORM
  • Kubernetes
  • CI/CD
  • Microservices
  • FinTech experience is preferable
  • Firm grasp of the JavaScript language (ES6+)
  • Knowledge of both functional and object-oriented programming
  • Worked in an agile environment
  • Ability to write well-documented, clean Javascript code
