As Discord reaches new audiences with new platform capabilities, we need a growth-focused individual to help expand our user base and lead product outreach efforts. As part of our strategic growth team, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that are core to the next phase of Discord's success.

We're looking for someone who brings creative ideas to the table and enjoys working on new, early-stage programs (think: "go build something new and take it from 0 to 10"... not "scale an existing thing from 50 to 100"). What you'll be doing at 10:00 a.m. on a Tuesday morning

  • Own the execution of new strategic growth programs focused on (1) expanding Discord's reach to new users, and / or (2) getting new product programs up and running
  • Create new strategies and design processes that help us achieve short and long-term growth targets (e.g., how would we go about finding partners to feature as part of a new product launch? ... how should we prioritize said list of partners to maximize our chance of success?)
  • Proactively develop outbound communications and manage outreach efforts to new partners, stakeholders, and customers - including pitching "why Discord?" and explaining how we add value to their organization
  • Present program highlights and funnel feedback to internal stakeholders (such as product, marketing, legal, community, and growth teams) to make sure we stay aligned with larger company goals and learn from others on how to improve
  • Monitor overall program progress and develop documentation to keep us on track (e.g., create project plans in Notion, track pipeline targets in our CRM system, build slide decks to summarize key program accomplishments, etc.)
  • Work closely with an amazing immediate team of account managers, marketing associates, and sales leaders to support the full lifecycle of product programs (from initial outreach to final go-live)
  • Manage simultaneous programs and quickly apply lessons learned from previous efforts to new projects (we work quickly and stay flexible - but always build off what we deliver)

Things you've done before that would help you be successful in this role

  • Owned proactive outreach to prospective leads and developed effective outbound messaging from scratch based on a defined target list (...this isn't solely a sales role, but you're not afraid to reach out to strangers)
  • Explained the value proposition behind a technology platform and successfully positioned how it helps partners, customers, and prospects achieve their goals (...imagine explaining "how can Discord help my brand develop our community?")
  • Developed and delivered effective presentations for internal and external stakeholders - including crafting a pitch, refining the narrative, and incorporating feedback from others (...you're not going to live in slides, but you should know how to create a concise deck and lead an executive presentation on your own)
  • Built new programs and processes designed to get early-stage projects up and running quickly (...appreciation for "progress over perfection" is key!)
  • Owned a defined OKR target, quota, or metric-based objective as an individual (...how have you taken something from X to Y or overachieved your goal by X%?)
  • Tailored your process and approach frequently based on different project needs (...how do you quickly adapt your narrative based on the audience or specific project you're working on at a given time?)

What you should have

  • 4+ years in a sales, business development, consulting, account management, or customer success role where you were evaluated by quantitative growth figures and KPI metrics
  • 2+ years in consumer technology-related fields
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion
